14/08/20 - Team Identity - Entry 15

For any brand or F1 in Schools team, there needs to be a coherent brand identity. There should be a consistent colour scheme, a meaningful logo and many more elements which should come together and work well together. If someone sees your brand, they should either recognise you, or be intrigued. Our branding is far from perfect, but whilst developing our colour scheme and logo, we wanted to be different. Instead of going for the traditional blues and blacks of a marlin fish, we made it a bit more abstract with teal, a colour which is very rarely used. We want people to recognise us and we want to stand out. If you are starting a colour scheme or generally building your brand for whatever purpose, be different. Try to stick away from traditional blues or reds, (especially for an F1 team). There are some occasions where these colours work brilliantly for developed brands, but if you are building an F1 team, try to make yourself different. If you still want to have simple colours, use green or purple. If you want to hear more about colour schemes, watch this video. To put your branding in place, you need to put it on everything you do, and our amazing sponsor Hayes Paper Co provides all you need to do that. Have a great week!
