This week we would like to talk to you about Race Day. This is what all our hard work leads to. We will be talking about the Entry class Race Day today. Race Day is made up of multiple events as well as the racing tournament going on the whole time in the background.
One very important event is the presentation when your team gives a verbal presentation to two judges. You have been given a quiz at the start of the competition and you get the chance
to discuss the answers with more experienced teams. At the end of your presentation, the judges ask questions about this quiz. Another important event is talking to a couple of other judges about your portfolios and about the car. They will ask lots of questions about various aspects of making the car and the team.
The man event going on throughout the day is the racing of the cars. The first thing you need you to
do is give in your car for "scrutineering" where points will be deducted for any rules your car breaks. Your car will race against one other team’s car four times (two on each lane), and you gain points depending on how fast the car is and your reaction time.
All these events will give you lots of points, which vary depending on how well you did in those aspects. At the end of the day is the prize giving ceremony where various teams are awarded prizes for things they did well. In entry class Team Thrust Engineering won the best engineered car and first place for entry class, and Team Peregrine one the Judges Award.
